Giulia received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Health Sciences and Technology from ETH Zurich in 2020 and 2022, respectively. During her Bachelor’s degree, she completed an exchange semester at the National University of Singapore with the ETH Worldwide Programmes. Giulia got awarded the merit-based Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Award of the ETH Foundation for her Master's studies, where she specialised in Medical Technologies.

In parallel to her Master’s degree, she gained professional experience in various teams, including a translational research team at the SMS Lab working on a novel approach to integrate games into digital therapy. After a clinical research internship at the University of Benin City Teaching Hospital (Benin City, Nigeria), where she assisted with clinical services in the neurosurgery and emergency departments, she joined the Laboratory of Biosensors and Bioelectronics (ETH Zurich) for her Master’s thesis. Her thesis focused on optimising and analysing signal transmission in directional neural networks for neuroscience. She graduated in August 2022 with distinction.

Giulia joined the SMS Lab as a doctoral student in November 2022. Her work will be focused on developing and validating new approaches for telerehabilitation using computer vision and data science techniques.

When not working, Giulia enjoys going on mountain hikes, snowboarding, and taking photographs.
