Cristina Gallego Vázquez

Cristina Gallego Vázquez was born in 1994 in Madrid, Spain. She received her Bachelor´s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid in 2017, where she focused on Biosensors and Medical Devices. Her Bachelor´s thesis with Prof. María Teresa Arredondo at the Life Supporting Technologies group (LifeSTech) was on the development of a pattern recognition algorithm from sensor data.

During her Master studies in Medical Engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, she joined the Translational Neuromodeling Unit (TNU) at ETH Zürich for her Master´s thesis, where she applied models of brain connectivity to neuroimaging data from a pharmacological study.

After graduating in September 2019, Cristina completed two internships at Roche in Switzerland, working with medical devices and digital biomarkers for Neuroscience.

In January 2021 she joined the SMS lab as a doctoral student. Cristina´s research focuses on Digital Biomarkers and Machine Learning for mental health.
