Max-Ole von Waldow

Max-Ole von Waldow's background is in robotics and autonomous systems. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degree at the University of Lübeck, Germany with a focus on sensors and mobile robotics.
During his studies he worked at the Institute for Electrical Engineering in Medicine together with Prof. Dr. Georg Schildbach where he supported lectures and led exercise sessions. Afterwards he worked on life sign detection at the Institute for Robotics and Cognitive Systems as part of a project with the German Rescue Robotics Center.
Starting in May 2023 in Västerås, Sweden, Max-Ole completed internships and his Master thesis on robotic recycling under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Floris Ernst.
Max-Ole joined the ETH Zürich and the SMS-Lab in April 2025. He is working as a doctoral student in rehabilitation robotics as part of the international & interdisciplinary EU TAILOR project. His PhD focus lies on integrating language-based AI to analyze therapists' intent and to adjust robotic parameters accordingly.
