Francesco Pietrogiacomi
Francesco is a PhD student in Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience at the IMT School for Advanced Studies in Lucca, where he investigates the effects of sensory stimulation on the behavioral, EEG, and autonomic correlates of dreams and states of consciousness during sleep.
In June 2025, he joined the SMS Lab as a guest PhD student, focusing on the analysis of physiological signals recorded through contactless sensors, with applications in sleep apnea research.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and completed a Master’s in Neuroscience at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. During his studies, he worked on research projects on sleep disorders, focusing on the EEG correlates of REM behavior disorder.
